3 women dressed as nuns arrested at airport for drug smuggling
They were definitely not as pious as they looked at first glance.
Police in Colombia have arrested three women who dressed as nuns, who were trying to smuggle cocaine under their religious garb between their legs.
The suspects were detained by customs on Saturday after
arriving in the Caribbean island of San Andres.
The women were described as looking nervous and police captain Oscar Davila said officials became suspicious about their appearance and the clothes they were wearing.
The fake nuns had tied to themselves more than two kilos of cocaine between their legs.
“These women are despicable, not only because they were trafficking illegal drugs, they also used religious garb to help them with their criminal activity, giving a bad name and raising suspicion against all religious men and women,” Lilian Phillips, 68, of Springfield, Illinois told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the drug smuggling nuns.
