Jimmy Fallon Reveals His Baby Daughter Was Born Via Surrogate
The TV host/comedian and his wife tried to have a
baby through a surrogate after facing fertility issues.
Two weeks after welcoming
his and wife Nancy's baby
daughter Winnie Rose, late-
night talk show host Jimmy
Fallon opened up about having
their new child born via a
surrogate after struggling with
fertility problems. The big
reveal was made by the 38-
year-old comedian during an
interview on "Today".
"It wasn't really a secret, but
my wife and I had been trying
for awhile to have a baby.
We've tried a bunch of different things, so we had a
surrogate," Fallon said. The couple had apparently
decided to keep the pregnancy news to themselves for
awhile until they were officially first-time parents
before they shared it with family and friends.
"This time we just said we're not going to tell
anybody, it'd be just more fun if it's just private
between me and my wife and then we get to introduce
her to everybody," said the TV host. But their plans to
keep it private were to be foiled as they were all too
excited with the coming of their child.
"When it happened we were in shock. We're like,
'Alright, who do we tell? Who's going to be mad at us
if this gets out?' We had to call everybody and it's so
emotional when you call everybody," Fallon
recounted. Fallon and wife Nancy join the growing
number of couples, both celebrity and non-celebrity,
who are turning to surrogacy to build their families,
including Elton John & David Furnish and Giuliana
Rancic & husband Bill Rancic.
